LUG WIDTH & TAPER GUIDE
The “lug width” of a watch is the distance (in millimetres) between the two tabs that hold your watch bracelet or strap as shown below. The strap size (lug width) needs to be the same as the lug width of your watch.
There are two methods for find your lug width; Method 1 which involves using a search engine (i.e. Google, etc.), or Method 2 which involves measuring the lug width with a ruler:
Method 1 - Google search
Step 1 – Find the exact model number of your watch. If you are unsure, you can find this on the original warranty/authenticity documents that would have come with your watch.
Step 2 – Enter the model number into Google search followed by the words “lug width”. The format is “[brand] [model number] lug width”.
Example:
Watch - Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional
Model number - 310.30.42.50.01.001
Google search query
Method 2 - Measure using a ruler
Measure your lug width using a ruler or vernier calliper. Lug width needs to be in millimetres, not inches.
Lug widths are usually whole numbers (i.e. 18mm, 19mm, 20mm, etc.).
Our straps are available in lug width sizes of 18mm, 19mm, 20mm, 21mm, 22mm, 23mm, and 24mm.
The size of the strap you select needs to be the same size as the lug width of your watch. I.e. if your lug width is 21mm, then you need to select our 21mm strap.
Note: If your lug width is not a whole number (i.e. 21.5mm, etc.) please contact us so we can advise you what strap to select.
All of our straps have a taper in width as per the following table:
Strap Size (lug width) |
Width at the buckle/clasp end |
Taper |
23mm |
20mm |
23/20 |
22mm |
20mm |
22/20 |
21mm |
18mm |
21/18 |
20mm |
18mm |
20/18 |
19mm |
18mm |
19/18 |
18mm |
16mm |
18/16 |
This means your buckle width needs to match the width at the buckle/clasp end.
Example:
If you buy our 20mm strap, that has a width of 18mm at the buckle/clasp end. You will need to buy our 18mm deployant clasp or buckle to match.
HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT LENGTH STRAP FOR YOU
Our Classic straps are available in three different lengths – Standard, XS, and XL.
Strap length |

Standard |
6.5" to 7.3" |
16.5cm to 18.6cm |
XL |
7.4" to 8.5" |

Note: If you are in between sizes, go the next length up. I.e. if your wrist is 16.4cm, then choose “Standard” length or if your wrist is 18.7cm, then choose "XL" length.
How to measure your wrist size
To find which strap length is right for you, you will need to know your wrist measurement.
You can either use a tape measure to do this, or use a simple strip or string as shown below.
Step 1 – Wrap the strip/string around your wrist at the point where you wear your watch.
Step 2 – Measure the strip/string using a ruler.
If you are still unsure what length is right for you, please contact us and we will be happy to help.
